"You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again. You can also look at the picture for a second and think of it all your life." - Joan Miro
to make a copy, representation, duplicate, or close imitation of: the state of being reproduced.
It's not what you see but how you see it. First, I find my story within the artwork. What elements speak to me and how the structure of the story is being visually presented.
When doing a reproduction the elements are all there to see and explore. I begin a process of creative deconstructivism, breaking down elements within the painting to fundemtal layers. I play the image backward in my mind, to uncover first steps. Through this process I then build outward, layer upon layer, until I reach the final representation.

"Since art is a vehicle for the transmission of ideas through form, the reproduction of the form only reinforces the concept. It is the idea that is being reproduced. Anyone who understands the work of art owns it. We all own the Mona Lisa."
- Sol LeWitt
